Verse of the Day

A verse from an earlier day, with its reflection and prayer.

His mercy endures forever

“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”

Read in context Explain

Today's insight

The call to "give thanks unto the LORD" rests on who He is, not on how easy your circumstances feel today. He is fundamentally "good," and because "his mercy endureth for ever," you never have to fear that His patience or compassion toward you will run out. No matter what changes around you, His steadfast mercy remains constant.

Reflect

Where in your life today do you need to be reminded that God's mercy will not run out on you?

Prayer

Lord, I give You thanks today because You are good. When my strength fails and my worries feel heavy, help me rest in the assurance that Your mercy endures forever. Amen.
