Verse of the Day

A verse from an earlier day, with its reflection and prayer.

Faith pleases God

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

Today's insight

When you turn your heart toward God, He does not ask for perfection; He asks for your trust. To please Him, you must first "believe that he is"—trusting in His real presence and character. Even more, you can have confidence "that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him," meeting your daily search with His unfailing goodness.

Reflect

In your prayers today, are you coming to God with genuine expectation, truly believing that He notices and rewards your seeking?

Prayer

Lord, I believe that You are real, near, and attentive to my life. Help me to seek You today with an earnest and trusting heart. Teach me to rest in the assurance that no moment spent seeking You is ever in vain. Amen.
