Lampfold

Help & how-to

Simple steps for every part of Lampfold — what to type, which button to press, and where your work is kept.

Reading & daily

Open the Bible, keep a daily rhythm, and ask questions as they come.

Bible Reader

The whole Bible in KJV, BSB and ASV

How to use it

  1. 1Tap the book and chapter name (for example “John 3”) to pick a book and then a chapter. You can also type a reference such as “Rom 8” in the Jump… box and press Go.
  2. 2Use the KJV / BSB / ASV menu to change translation. Lampfold remembers your choice and the place where you stopped reading.
  3. 3Tap one or more verses. A bar appears at the bottom: highlight in a colour, tap the star to favourite, add a Note (one verse at a time), add to Memorize, or Share.
  4. 4On the same bar, tap Study to explain the verses without leaving the chapter, Sermon to start an outline, or Linked to see cross-references.

Tip: Press Listen next to the chapter number to hear it read aloud, and turn on Interlinear to see the Greek or Hebrew word behind each English word.

Today

Verse of the day & your streak

How to use it

  1. 1Open Today to see one verse chosen for everyone, with a short reflection, a question to carry and a prayer.
  2. 2Under the verse, press Read in context to see the whole chapter, or Explain for a deeper look.
  3. 3Keep it close: Memorize, Save, Favorite or Share it as text or as an image for WhatsApp Status.
  4. 4Use Previous day and Next day to look back at earlier verses.

Tip: Coming back each day builds your reading streak, shown at the top of the page.

Journeys

Guided paths through Scripture

How to use it

  1. 1Search or pick a category, then open a journey that fits your season — grief, marriage, Lent, a book of the Bible and more.
  2. 2Press Start journey. Each day has a passage to read, a reflection, a question and a prayer, about ten minutes in all.
  3. 3Write your answer in the journal box (it saves by itself and stays private), then press Mark day complete.
  4. 4Come back tomorrow and press Continue on the journey to pick up the next day.

Tip: Some journeys let you try Day 1 free and keep the rest for Premium members.

Reading Plans

How to use it

  1. 1Choose a plan, such as the whole Bible in a year, the New Testament or the Psalms.
  2. 2Each day lists the chapters to read. Press Read to open them in the reader.
  3. 3When you finish, press Mark Done. Your first tick starts the plan, and the progress bar shows how far you have come.
  4. 4Want more? Press Get devotional for today for a short reflection on the day’s reading.

  2. 2Not sure what to ask? Tap one of the examples under Try asking.
  3. 3Ask follow-up questions in the same chat; Lampfold keeps the whole conversation in mind.
  4. 4Your chats are kept automatically. Press History to return to an old one, or New to start fresh.

  2. 2Choose a language in Explain in if you want the explanation in Kiswahili, Yorùbá, Hausa, French or another language.
  3. 3Press Explain. You get the meaning in short, word by word, the setting, what it means for you today, and a prayer.
  4. 4When the answer is finished, use the buttons above it: Listen, Save, Copy, Share or PDF. It is also kept for you in Saved Studies.

Tip: For a whole chapter, use Commentary instead.

  2. 2Tap an answer, or press 1–4 on a keyboard. You see straight away whether it was right, with a link to the verse or page it comes from; press Next to go on.
  3. 3At the end, press Share to send your score, or Review answers to go over each question again.
  4. 4Want more? Pick a topic or any book of the Bible further down the page and play its quiz as often as you like.

Common questions

Accounts, settings, accuracy, saving and using Lampfold on your phone.

Is Lampfold free? Is there a daily limit?

Reading the Bible, Today’s verse, reading plans, the concordance and comparing translations are free and need no account.

The AI tools (Explain, Ask, Sermon and the others) are free to try. Without an account you get a small number of AI requests each day; a free account gives you more. The note under each answer shows how many you have left today.

Limits can change over time. If a Premium plan is offered where you live, you will see it when you reach a limit.

Create a free account →

Why should I sign in? Will my work follow me to my phone?

You can use Lampfold without an account — your notes, highlights, sermons and progress are kept on the device you are using.

When you sign in (with email or Google), they are backed up and synced, so the same notes, Saved Studies, sermons, memory verses, journeys and settings appear on your phone and your computer. The natural reading voice for Listen also needs a free account.

Sign in →Account settings →

How do I change the language, my church tradition or “I am a…”?

Open Settings and look under Tradition & preferences. There you can choose I am a… (pastor, teacher, student, everyday reader or exploring faith), your Denominational tradition, the Audience (for sermon prep), and the Language for AI answers.

Your role only changes which tools are shown first — every tool stays open to everyone.

Explain a Verse and Ask also have their own language menu on the page. To change the Bible translation, use the KJV / BSB / ASV menu in the reader.

Open Settings →

Can I trust the answers? How does Lampfold check them?

Before you see an answer, every Bible verse it quotes is checked against the actual text of the King James Version, the Berean Standard Bible and the American Standard Version. Quotes that do not match are flagged.

Even so, AI can make mistakes in its explanations. Treat Lampfold as a study helper: read the passage yourself, compare with other trusted teaching, and talk with your pastor about important questions.

How do I save, print or share what Lampfold writes?

Finished studies are kept for you in Saved Studies, and sermons in your Sermon Library. Under most answers you will find Save, Copy, Share and PDF.

Share lets you send a message or an image card to WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, X, SMS or email. In the Sermon Library you can also print, send a whole sermon on WhatsApp, or export it.

Saved Studies →Sermon Library →

Can I use Lampfold offline or install it like an app?

Yes. Add Lampfold to your home screen: on iPhone, open it in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen; on Android, open your browser menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.

Chapters and pages you have already opened can be read again without a connection. In a reading plan, press Save for offline to keep a day’s chapters ready. The AI tools need an internet connection.

How do I contact you or send feedback?

We would love to hear from you — questions, problems, ideas or a verse that looks wrong. Use Send feedback below (also in Settings), or email us at support@citedash.ai. If something went wrong, tell us which page you were on and what you typed.
