About Verse of the Day

Everyone gets the same verse each day, chosen from a list of well-loved passages. With it comes a short reflection, a question to carry through the day and a prayer.

The verse is quoted from the King James Version; the reflection is written by AI and its quotations are checked against the text. Use Previous day to read earlier verses, and turn reminders on or off in Settings.

Verse of the Day

A verse from an earlier day, with its reflection and prayer.

Doers of the word

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

Read in context Explain

Today's insight

Hearing truth is only the beginning; the real test comes in how you live it out. If you listen to truth without putting it into practice, you risk "deceiving your own selves." God calls you to "be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only," turning what you receive into everyday action.

Reflect

Where in your life today are you listening to the word, but hesitating to actually do what it says?

Prayer

Lord, keep me from being a hearer who walks away unchanged. Help me not to deceive myself with good intentions, but give me the courage to be an active doer of Your word today. Amen.
