About Verse of the Day

Everyone gets the same verse each day, chosen from a list of well-loved passages. With it comes a short reflection, a question to carry through the day and a prayer.

Verse of the Day

A verse from an earlier day, with its reflection and prayer.

Clothed in compassion

“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;”

Today's insight

Before you face the demands of this day, remember who you are: "holy and beloved" by God. Because you belong to Him, you are called to "put on" virtues that touch the people around you—"bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering." These are not feelings you wait for, but daily choices you wear like garments into every conversation and encounter.

Reflect

Which of these garments—mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, or longsuffering—do you most need to put on before speaking to someone today?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for choosing me and calling me beloved. Clothe my heart today with genuine kindness and humbleness of mind toward others. Help me to walk in patience and mercy wherever You lead me. Amen.
