Verse of the Day
A verse from an earlier day, with its reflection and prayer.
Power to witness
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Today's insight
Before you take a single step to speak for Christ, remember where your strength comes from. The promise is clear: "ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you." You are not sent out in your own wisdom, but to be "witnesses unto me" wherever you are placed—starting in your own community and reaching to "the uttermost part of the earth."
Reflect
Where has God placed you today, and how can your daily actions serve as a faithful witness to His presence?
Prayer
Lord, I cannot do Your work in my own strength. Fill me with the Holy Ghost today and give me the power to be a faithful witness to You in every place I go. Amen.
