About Verse of the Day

Everyone gets the same verse each day, chosen from a list of well-loved passages. With it comes a short reflection, a question to carry through the day and a prayer.

The verse is quoted from the King James Version; the reflection is written by AI and its quotations are checked against the text. Use Previous day to read earlier verses, and turn reminders on or off in Settings.

Verse of the Day

A verse from an earlier day, with its reflection and prayer.

God our refuge

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Read in context Explain

Today's insight

When difficulties surround you, God does not stand far off waiting for the storm to pass. He is both your safe shelter and the inner power you need to stand firm. Because He is "a very present help in trouble," you never have to face hardship alone or search in vain for His presence.

Reflect

Where in your life today do you need to stop relying on your own power and instead let God be your "refuge and strength"?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for being my safe hiding place and my steady support when trials come. Help me to rest in Your nearness today, trusting that You are always right beside me to help. Amen.
