Verse of the Day

A verse from an earlier day, with its reflection and prayer.

His sheep hear His voice

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

Today's insight

Jesus speaks of a deep, living bond between Himself and those who belong to Him: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." You do not have to wander in uncertainty, because the Shepherd knows you personally and calls you to walk after Him. Best of all, your future is secure in His care; He promises that "neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."

Reflect

In the middle of all the noise competing for your attention today, are you taking time to listen for the Shepherd's voice and follow where He leads?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for knowing me by name and giving me eternal life. Help me to tune my ears to Your voice today so I may follow You faithfully. Thank You that I am held safely in Your hand. Amen.
