Verse of the Day

A verse from an earlier day, with its reflection and prayer.

The Lord my light

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Today's insight

When shadows gather around your path, this verse reminds you where your true security rests. Because "The LORD is my light and my salvation," you do not have to stumble in darkness or search for deliverance on your own. When He is "the strength of my life," your fearful questions lose their power over your day.

Reflect

Where in your life today are you feeling afraid, and what would it look like to trust the Lord as your light in that place?

Prayer

Lord, You are my light, my salvation, and the strength of my life. When fear presses in and threatens to overwhelm me, quiet my heart with the truth of who You are. Help me to walk through this day confident that I have no reason to be afraid. Amen.
