Trinity: Father, Son and Spirit
Christians worship one God, made known to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is not a puzzle to solve but a love to enter. Over seven days, see how the Bible reveals the Father who loves, the Son who saves and the Spirit who lives in us — and how all three work together for our good.
The days
- Day 1: The Lord is oneDeuteronomy 6:4-9Moses declares that the Lord our God is one Lord, to be loved with all our heart, soul and strength, and his words are to be taught at home and talked about every day.
- Day 2: The Word was GodJohn 1:1-5In the beginning was the Word; the Word was with God and the Word was God; all things were made through him, and in him is life and light that darkness cannot overcome.
- Day 3: Father, Son and Spirit togetherMatthew 3:13-17At Jesus' baptism the Spirit of God descends like a dove and the Father's voice from heaven declares, 'This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.'
- Day 4: We will make our homeJohn 14:15-26Jesus promises that the Father will send another Comforter, the Spirit of truth, to be with his disciples for ever, and that the Father and the Son will come and make their home with those who love him.
- Day 5: The Spirit who gives lifeRomans 8:9-11Paul says believers are in the Spirit if the Spirit of God dwells in them; the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to their mortal bodies.
- Day 6: Chosen, redeemed, sealedEphesians 1:3-14The Father chose us in Christ and adopted us as children; in the Son we have redemption through his blood; and we are sealed with the Holy Spirit as the guarantee of our inheritance.
- Day 7: Grace, love and fellowship2 Corinthians 13:11-14Paul urges the church to live in peace and one mind, and blesses them with the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
