About this journey

A journey is a short, themed path through Scripture, one day at a time: a passage to read, a short reflection, a question to journal on and a prayer.

Start at day 1 and go at your own pace — your progress and private journal are saved on this device and synced if you sign in. A “Beta” tag means a pastor has not reviewed the journey yet.

Holy Week

Walk with Jesus through the most important week in history, one day at a time. From the shouts of Palm Sunday, through the upper room, the cross and the silent tomb, to the empty grave on Easter morning — let each day's passage meet you where it happened.

The days

  1. Day 1: Palm Sunday: HosannaMatthew 21:1-11Jesus enters Jerusalem humbly on a donkey, fulfilling Zechariah's prophecy, as crowds shout 'Hosanna' — a King of peace, not of war.
  2. Day 2: Monday: A house of prayerMatthew 21:12-17Jesus cleanses the temple, restoring it as a house of prayer, then welcomes the blind, the lame and the praising children.
  3. Day 3: Tuesday: The greatest commandmentMatthew 22:34-40Tested by religious leaders, Jesus sums up the whole law: love God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbour as yourself.
  4. Day 4: Wednesday: A beautiful thingMatthew 26:6-13A woman pours costly ointment on Jesus at Bethany; when others complain of waste, Jesus calls it a beautiful act preparing him for burial.
  5. Day 5: Thursday: He washed their feetJohn 13:4-15On the night before his death, Jesus takes a towel and washes his disciples' feet, giving them an example of humble, serving love.
  6. Day 6: Good Friday: It is finishedJohn 19:25-30At the cross Jesus cares for his mother, thirsts, and then declares 'It is finished' — the work of salvation completed.
  7. Day 7: Saturday: The sealed tombMatthew 27:57-66Jesus is buried by Joseph of Arimathea, the tomb is sealed and guarded, and the women sit opposite — a day of grief, silence and waiting.
  8. Day 8: Easter morning: He is not hereMatthew 28:1-10At dawn the women find the tomb empty; the angel announces 'He is risen', and Jesus himself meets them with 'All hail' and 'Be not afraid.'
