Anxiety & Peace
When worry keeps you awake, Scripture does not shame you — it invites you to bring every care to a God who cares for you. Over seven days, sit with passages that have steadied anxious hearts for generations.
The days
- Day 1: Cast your cares1 Peter 5:6-7God invites us to throw our anxieties onto him because he personally cares for us; humility here means admitting we cannot carry everything alone.
- Day 2: Pray instead of worryingPhilippians 4:4-9Paul turns anxiety into prayer with thanksgiving, and promises God's peace will guard the heart and mind; he also directs our thoughts toward what is true and lovely.
- Day 3: Consider the liliesMatthew 6:25-34Jesus points to birds and flowers to show the Father's daily care, and invites us to seek his kingdom first and take life one day at a time.
- Day 4: God is our refugePsalms 46:1-11Even when the earth seems to shake, God is a present help and a safe refuge; 'be still' is an invitation to stop striving and know that he is God.
- Day 5: Come to me and restMatthew 11:28-30Jesus personally invites the weary and burdened to come to him; he is gentle and lowly in heart, and offers rest for the soul.
- Day 6: Peace I leave with youJohn 14:25-27Before the cross, Jesus gives his disciples his own peace — not the fragile peace the world offers — and the Holy Spirit as Comforter and Teacher.
- Day 7: The Shepherd who staysPsalms 23:1-6The Lord is a shepherd who provides, restores, leads and stays present even in the darkest valley; his goodness and mercy follow us all our days.
